PASADENA ACADEMY Ph. 686-5091

Offering grade 7 through high school, the academy
serves Pasadena and the surrounding area. The Academy
provides a solid academic education with a full range of courses, including advanced mathematics, chemistry, Physics, and various computer related courses.

Pasadena Academy has an active student council and a sports program
which has developed provincial winning teams !

PASADENA ELEMENTARY Ph. 686-2621

Our school, Pasadena Elementary, is part of the Corner Brook
- Deer Lake - St. Barbe District #3 which has thirty one (31) schools.
The main section of our building was built in 1973 and a new wing
was constructed in 1983. During the summer of 1996, the interior of the
building was renovated to accommodate restructuring. Pasadena Primary,
a Kindergarten through Grade Three school, was closed in June '96 and
its students and teachers transferred to what is now known as Pasadena
Elementary. Holy Rosary, a Kindergarten through Grade Nine school,
transferred its Grades Seven through Nine and some staff to Pasadena
Academy. The elementary students and staff at Pasadena Academy were
transferred to the new Pasadena Elementary School. In September
1996, restructuring of the Pasadena schools was completed. Pasadena
Elementary (K-6) and Pasadena Academy (7-12) became a system
under the new School District #3 during the school year.

EMERGENCY 911

Pasadena Fire Rescue is a volunteer department with a roster of thirty firefighters. Operations are supported via a Metalfab 840 and Thibault 625 pumping apparatus, an International 4700 2001 model rescue and a cubed utility unit. Self contained breathing apparatus is by Survivair and Hurst rescue tools compliment highway response.

Recruits enter on a six month probationary period and throughout their service receive training relevant to todays standards. Firefighter professional qualifications as per NFPA 1001 has been attained by a number of members.
